a First Time for Everything
This is the first time I have ever in my life watched little league baseball. Yep, it's true. Truth be told, I'm not even sure I would be watching it now if it hadn't been on the local news. Pennsylvania's Red Land Little League Team is in the World Series.
I am so very impressed with these guys. The respect for their own and the other teams, the sportsmanship they exhibit, the camaraderie between them, their coach, their fans... everything about them is an absolute joy to watch.
Yesterday I got to wondering what it was that makes watching these young men play baseball so enjoyable. (It's important to note that I am actually not much of a sports fan... unless it's racing.) It didn't take long to figure it out. They are playing because they LOVE it! They love it, they are having fun and in turn they make it fun for everyone fortunate enough to watch them.
Today at 3:30 (EST) they are playing Texas for the United States Championship. (Texas is also a great team to watch and I am glad it is them that the local guys face today.)
So, don't call me or text me this afternoon... I won't answer unless there is a commercial on (and I'm not Tweeting about the game!). ;)
