When I first discovered Zibbet and opened shop there, I thought it was simply wonderful. I thought it was a venue with integrity and high standards. I began to question some things and couldn't seem to get a straight answer.
Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.
I did initially take that first step, believing as I was being told, that everything would be fine. Yet as time went on, things were not fine and I began amassing a list of questions without answers. It seemed that the harder I tried to get a straight answer, the more convoluted they actually got. So I went looking for myself.
There is a lot of information out there, you just have to be willing to READ it! At first, I thought that the people who were speaking out against the site were spewing sour grapes, and for that, I sincerely apologize. There is a huge difference between sour grapes and FACT.
One of the first things I discovered was that Zibbet's CEO ran a dinar investment scam online. Yes...SCAM. Here is a link to an article published in Forbes Magazine that explains the scam. Do yourself a favor and read it: http://www.forbes.com/sites/jayadkisson/2012/07/30/you-cant-fix-stupid-the-iraqi-dinar-scam-lives/ I also encourage you to click on the links in that article for further information.
Now... this link will take you directly to the Turn Dinar to Dollars site: http://web.archive.org/web/20060718023227/http://www.turndinartodollars.com/index.htm
(Take note to the date at the very top of the page, as this will be of use later.)
I know you are probably thinking, 'Well, that's no proof that this particular person ran this.' As of last night, the link on the FAQ page took you directly to the ABN registration, however, now you need to enter the ABN. Most people will give up at this point, as they don't know where to find that information. Interestingly enough, it is published at the bottom of the page. I'll save you the trouble, but please feel free to double-check on your own. Here is a screenshot of the ABN:
There had also been a line of questioning in the forums in March and April of 2010 regarding the CEO's involvement, but since they closed their forums, it is difficult to find. Luckily, I did find it though, as someone had included it in an Etsy forum.
I suppose this was intended to make people feel better. My issue with this logic: once I know that a person has been involved in this type of 'business venture', WHY would I continue to trust them? Yes, it may have been technically legal, but what about ethical? For anyone thinking, 'Maybe he didn't even make that much from it,' please refer to the following screenshot (here is where you need to recognize the above referenced date):
Just in case you aren't seeing it: "Founded a successful e-commerce site in 2006, which turned over $0.5 Million in gross profit that year..."
These facts, along with others recently published in my article 'Twisted Bloomers' are enough to make one question the logic of all of the 'goings on' at Zibbet. However, many members of the Zibbet Community Hub don't see it that way. One went as far as to state, and I quote: "they are bad humans, people you just would not deal with in person." It gets better... "Imagine if your worked in an office with someone like this and they were fired for their behavior. If you knew they were spending so much time of their daily lives blaming other, stalking, trashing other, plotting ways to create damage and dwell on the past. They eventually want to hurt everyone and anyone that even worked at the same place. That is the very type whom you would be concerned would come back into the building to hurt others. It is the very same personality. It is sad and it is also frightening." Nope, I didn't make it up and I have the screenshot of it in reserve.
First of all, the person making this statement is not very well educated in psychology; unless of course investigating and reporting facts is considered the same personality type as a narcissistic stalker/sociopath. (Hint: They are not even in the same ballpark!) I will speak only for myself, as I was very offended upon being informed of this information. I began investigating for my own reasons, but decided to go public with my findings in hope that at least one person...ONE...would read this and begin their own search for facts. Instead of questioning or researching, they resort to this sort of behavior.
If you see the hashtag #badhumans on Twitter, THIS is why! I knew in the beginning that putting any of this information together and giving people the opportunity to read it in one place was going to lead to the loss of Twitter followers, name calling, etc. But to be compared to the description above? Very interesting to say the least.
For over four years, the infamous rebuild has been promised and pushed back. Now, in one of the latest blog posts, the CEO states, "We will need to take Zibbet offline for quite a long period of time in order to do the migration prior to launch. We don’t yet know how long this will take, but we will let you know as soon as we do." After tweeting this direct quote, a seller tweeted, "Truth! Zibbet won't be down for weeks or months as some mislead, Admin estimates 3 days, hopefully less." Well, if 'quite a long period of time' is equivalent to 3 days, then I guess I'm cool with that; but if you ask me, those tweeting direct quotes are not the ones attempting to mislead... just sayin'.
This is only the tip of the iceberg of the facts out there and I am not the only one blogging about them. The key is to READ! I encourage you, as I have done from the beginning, to look for yourself...don't take my word for it! I wish I had seen some of this information before I personally joined the Zibbet ranks, because I can assure you that I would have run the other way.
As for me, this IS the END OF Z LINE! I am closing my shop permanently, as I was lucky enough to recoup my initial investment (unlike many others). I sent them a request this morning to do just that.
