When I purchased my new camera, I was ecstatic to find that they had it in red! Finished were the days of sitting it down during photo shoot and having to hunt for it!) The day soon arrived when I realized, there certainly were pros and cons to owning a red camera.
While I have yet to go looking for the camera, the first time I tried to photograph a reflective item I realized this could get tricky. Depending on the lighting arrangement, one of two things can happen: 1) the camera color actually reflects in the object or 2) the light may actually pass the camera, picking up a hint of the color along the way and making the object appear as though it has a copper tint to it.
Yes, one would have thought that I would have learned my lesson during one of the numerous times I've changed shirts due to the same issue. Hahaha! Regardless, I still LOVE the camera! (It takes SUPER close-up shots, which I do quite a bit of!)
I have also recently noticed that the beautiful white crepe fabric I've been using as a backdrop for some of these items... LOOKS like a stinking paper towel when the shots are so close up! WHAT?! As a type A, this drives me absolutely bananas!
The paper towel look! GAH!!!
Odds are that by the time a gazillion (hey - you never know!) people look at these actual products, I will have 'cleared' the paper towel looking fabric background to make it a nice, bright white.
Regardless of everything, I still LOVE the camera and will be looking for a new background.
